Foot surgery
Restore comfort and mobility with our surgical solutions
Foot surgery is a surgical treatment path aimed at correcting bone deformities or nerve compressions of the forefoot or hindfoot that no longer respond to conservative treatments (such as orthotics, exercises, injections, or other unsuccessful non-surgical approaches). At Pied Confort, we understand that foot pain can limit your daily activities, your productivity, and your overall quality of life.
Thanks to surgical advances in podiatry, several surgical procedures can be performed to realign foot structures, eliminate chronic pain, and prevent long-term complications.
Common surgeries performed at the clinic
Several common conditions may require surgical intervention to achieve definitive relief. Our podiatrists evaluate each case with precision to determine if surgery is the best option for you.
Hallux Valgus (Bunions)
A deformity of the joint at the base of the hallux (big toe) that causes a painful bony bump. Surgery realigns the bone and corrects the angle of the toe.
Morton's Neuroma
A thickening of the nerve tissue between the toes, causing burning sensations, electric shocks, numbness, and pain. The procedure involves a surgical excision (removal) of the affected nerve.
Hammer toe
A permanent contracture of one or more toe joints. Surgery straightens the toe to eliminate friction and rubbing inside footwear.
Tailor’s Bunion (Bunionette)
Similar to hallux valgus, but located on the outer side of the foot at the base of the little toe.
Hallux rigidity and limitation
A form of osteoarthritis that limits the movement of the big toe, causing significant stiffness and pain while walking.
The Surgical Procedure
It all begins with a thorough clinical examination and, in most cases, digital X-rays taken directly at our clinic to assess bone alignment. Once the decision is made, the surgical intervention is usually performed under local anesthesia. Depending on the pathology, the podiatrist performs the necessary correction (such as an osteotomy, soft tissue release, or arthroplasty).
Recovery is significantly optimized through the use of Minimal Incision Surgery (MIS technique). This modern approach, favored by our orthopedic surgeons, allows for the correction of deformities through tiny incisions, thereby reducing post-operative pain and scarring.
While the protocol generally includes a period of rest, the use of a specific post-operative offloading shoe, and rigorous follow-up visits, the MIS technique promotes more aesthetic healing and a significantly faster return to daily activities compared to traditional invasive methods.
If you suffer from persistent pain or deformities that interfere with your daily life, surgery could be the solution to regain a "light step." Consult your podiatrist at the Pied Confort clinic for a full evaluation.

Dr. Muser, podiatrist, earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, an affiliate of Touro University in New York City, in 2019. He then completed a three-year surgical residency at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York (2019–2022), where he received advanced training and credentialing in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. During residency, he also completed a three-month internship at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland, gaining experience alongside internationally recognized orthopedic surgeons specializing in lower-extremity deformity correction.
His clinical interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of foot deformities and biomechanical pathology. He specializes in correcting forefoot deformities, including hallux valgus, hallux rigidus, tailor’s bunions, hammertoes, and other toe contractures, using the latest surgical techniques and minimally invasive approaches. Above all, Dr. Muser, podiatrist, is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients through both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options.
