This condition can also lead to an increase in the size of the bone, resulting in a bunion on the inside of the foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This condition can be caused by genetics, aging, injury or a medical problem. Signs of hallux valgus include the big toe pointing outward toward the other toes, increased distance between the big toe and the second toe and abnormal redness or swelling around the joint. Although these symptoms may not appear until after the initial joint and bone misalignment, it is important to be aware of them, as they can exacerbate the condition and cause other problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If left untreated, hallux valgus can lead to other foot problems such as corns, blisters and joint pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To better understand the treatment :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conservative Treatments for Hallux valgus:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many cases of hallux valgus are mild and can be treated with simple foot orthotics, orthoplasty, or orthopedic shoes. More severe or older cases may require surgery to correct the abnormal alignment of the joint. Conservative treatments, however, can help prevent the condition from worsening and may be recommended as part of a re-evaluation of the foot after surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surgical Treatments for Hallux Valgus:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When conservative treatments fail, surgery may be necessary. Hallux valgus surgery is usually minimally invasive and can be performed under local or general anesthesia.
