To better understand the treatment :
Orthonyxis is a treatment used to address nail abnormalities such as ingrown toenails.
In order to reduce nail deformity and therefore pain, this procedure reshapes the nail to reduce the pressure that causes the nail to grow into the soft tissue.
Three different techniques are used to perform orthonyxis:
- Laminates for minor nail deformities.
- Staple with stud or bridge.
- Steel wire staples.
These techniques do not cause pain to the patient and are adapted according to the length and flexibility of the nail or the importance of the curvature to be corrected.
Orthonyxis is a procedure that involves reshaping and trimming the nails to reduce pain and promote healing. Your podiatrist at Pied Confort will discuss the procedure and its potential risks with you before performing it.
